QUEBRADA DE HUMAHUACA

The Quebrada de Humahuaca… This region is known for its splendid countryside and the many towns that still house pre-Columbian and colonial remains. The town’s tourist success is due to Hornocal, this incredible mountain with 14 colors located a few kilometers from Humahuaca.

PURNAMARCA AND THE SEVEN COLORS HILL

70 kilometers south of the city of Humahuaca, you can admire a geological spectacle at the Seven Colors Hill, which borders the city of Purmamarca. Approximately 75,000,000 years ago, the hill was formed through a complex geological process resulting from the sedimentation of rivers, seawater, and lakes. The hill is so named because of the diverse pigments acquired by the minerals that make up the sedimentary layers. It is said that you can see seven colors on the hill, but most people only see three or four. In the morning, the colors are more pronounced, and if you are driving there, observe the hill and its colors just before entering the city.
